You are welcome to link to any blog post directly, and I encourage you to do so.

How to link to a post and use the RSS feed

Linking to a blog post directly

The best way to link to one of my blog posts is by using pingback or trackback. Using this system ensures that your link will go to the blog post that you want it to. In the simplest terms, it creates a URL for the post that will not change.

Here’s how you do it:

  1. Go to the blog post that you want to link to. (Make sure you’re on the page that includes the entire blog post.)
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the post.
  3. Under the Share link and list of icons, click the trackback link that is within the paragraph of text.
  4. In the address bar of your browser, select the entire URL, and then copy it.
  5. Paste it into the appropriate place in your blog post or website content.

Getting updates to the site via RSS feed

Some of you have asked how to get updates to a particular post or to the entire site via RSS feed. It’s easy!

Here’s how you subscribe to an RSS feed for a particular blog post:

Note: If you subscribe to a particular blog post, you will see all comments added to that blog post only. You won’t see new blog posts added to the site.

  1. Go to the blog post that you want to subscribe to.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the blog post and click the RSS 2.0 link that is within the paragraph of text.
  3. Choose the way that you would like to subscribe to the feed, and then follow the instructions.

Here’s how you subscribe to an RSS feed for the entire website:

Note: If you subscribe to the entire site, you will see new blog posts.

  1. On any page of the Shine Your Strengths website, scroll to the bottom of the page.
  2. Under Follow Markus, click the RSS button button.
  3. Choose the way that you would like to subscribe to the feed, and then follow the instructions.
